These are photographs that my grandfather took on his first visit to NYC in 1963. He lived in London, worked in construction, was fascinated with buildings and cities and was wowed by the scale of New York. I've paired his images with current Google Street views from the same vantage point. Much has changed. There are more trees and more cars. Some buildings have been torn down, but many remain. What do you notice?
